I started photographing this door in 2014. It sits at the gable end of the Pleasant Street Board School, on May Street. The silver writing on the column is Pleaser. This is one of the nom de plumes of the American Artist Stephen Powers aka Espo.

Its a small snapshot of the regeneration changing the landscape of Liverpool. I’m not sure if it was chance, but Espo’s Pleaser was remained untouched. Well, not until the developers painted over it.

The music is by Motor City Drum Ensemble – Raw Cuts. It samples the intro to Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On
